Dancing with memories workshop
Visit the seaside of Poland in early spring 2010, learn about the best moments in lives of European citizens across the history and pay with just your readiness to dance!
Join the program "Dancing with memories" as part of a great Grundtvig Program idea to learn through all your life and exchanging experiences between all European citizens.
You've had your time for waltzing with life, haven’t you? Do you still remember your first dance with mom in a sandy yard or on the wooden floor of your family house? The first ball at school? The melodies that made your heart go a bit faster and that have broken barriers of shame? A farewell dance to your old aunt or singing like crazy when your first child was born? We invite you to share your stories with 15 other participants of our program.
We don't mind your country of origin, weather you want to join as a couple or as a single person, we won’t ask you about your dancing experience, nor will a perfect command of English be necessary to participate in our workshops. All is demanded from you is possibility to move your legs in the rhythm of well known songs and a bit open mined attitude.
How do we want to awake memories and make them interchangeable? Every day of our program will be dedicated to certain decades of the twentieth century. Our expert with a little help of video and audio material, will prepare a sociological and historical background for your stories. Authentic items of everyday life as well as moderators dressed in historical costumes will provide a suitable atmosphere. Our dancing instructor will prove an aid to any kind of dancer and will help you remember the most important steps and figures in certain dances. We will be dancing, singing, telling jokes and stories, rediscovering the history of Europe and trying to find common assets in different patterns of joy and national celebrations. We won’t forget about a decent dinner and nice trips to the Polish seaside either.
Everyone has his memories. We want to see you dancing with them!
